It is an ideal spot for weekend trips from Bangalore as it is around 140km and can be covered in a day. Once you enter the place , you will feel confused whether it is a bank of a river or a beach. as there is too much sand which is unnatural indeed when a river is flowing by side. Talakadu is believed to be a spiritual hub for about 30 temples once, 5 of which are Lingams representing the 5 faces of Lord Shiva. The Pathaleshwara Temple, the Maruleshwara Temple, the Vaidhyeshwara Temple and the Mallikarjuna Temple are the Pancha-Lingas that represent the five faces of Lord Shiva.
